Advanced search
Keyword search is a great way to quickly find a particular person. If you have a large database and want to find a group of contacts by a particular set of attributes (so that you can export or email them afterwards), Advanced search gives you a lot of power.
Start at the Members tab - it will open the Member list summary page - and click on Advanced search:

On this screen you can add as many search criteria as needed using the Add criteria link.
Select any number of the search criteria and click [OK] button:

For each field you add to your query you can specify the match criteria - according to each field type:
- Text fields: search for a precise match or for those containing (or excluding) a particular string
- Checkboxes: you can specify one or more checkboxes and whether a match should include all of the selected, any of the selected, or none of the selected checkboxes
- Drop-downs: Specific selection (including "is" and "is not" conditions)
- Option buttons: Specific selection (including "is" and "is not" conditions)
- Date: Specific date or date ranges, including ranges such as "this week", "last year", etc.

You can add the same field several times and use option 'Match Any':

Or you can add multiple fields and use the option 'Match All'. For example, to find all members who are from New York, belong to a Manufacturing or Finance industry and have logged in on May 1, 2007 or later, you can construct a query like this:

When your query is ready, click on the [Search] button and the system will find all matching records. You can:
- Click on a particular record to review or edit it - then use Back link to go back to your selection
- Email all selected members
- Export these records (and then for example, modify them all in Excel and import back to update as needed)
- Save this search to quickly re-run it again - See Saved searches
